The PADI Advanced Open Water Course is your gateway to ensuring you are never left behind on the beach again. PADI Advanced Open Water certification allows you to venture beyond the 18m limits and discover the wonders of the ocean upto 30m below. It also opens opportunities to wreck diving as most wrecks lie between the 20m – 30m mark. The focus of this course is also to improve your dive skills which will then increase your enjoyment of Scuba Diving.
Your deep dive in the course is done at Cathedral, one of the most spectacular dive sites on the Aliwal shoal, or the world. Cathedral sits at 24m and is one of the few areas Ragged tooth sharks can be seen seasonally.
Another very exciting dive of the Advanced course is the Wreck dive, of which we have two to choose from, The Produce or the Nebo. The MV Produce is a steam liner that sank in 1974 and is a favourite among divers due to the various species of resident fish that can be seen namely the brindle Bass. The Nebo is a wooden vessel that sunk in 1884 and is an archaeological site which gives it a mystical feeling with plenty of macro life. These two are perfect for the wreck dive portion of the advanced course.
Another popular choice is to do a Shark Dive as part of the Advanced Course. Upgrade one of your dives to a Baited Shark Dive and you are guaranteed the experience of a life time!!!!
